Ready to make a Mead ?
Ok - we are ready to get started and make a simple mead. First you need
to get some honey. There are many places to get honey like farmers
markets, grocery stores or from local beekeepers. In this particular batch I will be using some darker
wildflower honey that probably has a lot of Tulip Poplar in the honey.
This honey came from Bill Boyd down in Indian Trail. Next you will need water,
which can be bottle water, spring water or tap water. If you have
chlorine you will need to let the water sit overnight to let the
chlorine to evaporate. Also a Stainless
steel (preferably) pot to mix the honey and water. Also a good stirring spoon and lastly
some yeast and we will get into this later in the session.
Ok, let's get started !
We will be doing a traditional Dry Mead.
