A good crowd was on hand for the 2009 National Mead Day Celebration at Alternative Beverage in Belmont, NC. Jess Faucette welcomed everyone and introduced Cliff Mullis who gave a great talk about Beekeeping. Then Gary Cathey and Kevin Martin gave a talk about Mead and showed everyone how to go about making a mead. Then there was food ! Jess provided hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone and had a donation jar out so anyone that wanted could make a donation that went to the American Cancer Society. Jess also was going to double the donation total. The Meads then were opened fot tasting and there were some excellent tasting meads. Then a few people made a mead. |
